Rich Durazzo.............Senior Warden
Rich was born in New Haven but has been living in Milford for many years. He has faithfully been attending St. Peter’s for 23 years. He currently serves as Senior Warden. He is also involved in ushering, outreach dinners, mission trips, and the property committee. Rich enjoys the family community at St. Peter's.
Conrad Green............Junior Warden
Conrad was born in Houlton Maine but has lived in Milford most of his life. He came to St. Peter's in 2009 after finding God in the desert while on a Mission trip to Juarez, Mexico. Conrad has helped build eight houses there for some very grateful families. He retired from his job at the City of Milford in 2011, which allows him to dedicate himself to the job of Junior Warden. Conrad enjoys sailing, photography, and woodworking.
Sharon MacKenzie is a life long resident of Milford. In her words she has been a member of St. Peter’s for “a long, long time from about 1960”. Sharon has served as treasurer for many years and is also a member of the choir and is directress of the Altar Guild. The things she loves about St. Peter’s are “the community, the architecture of the church and the pipe organ.” Sharon loves counted cross-stitch and loved motorcycling.
Class of 2018
Beth Bell was born and raised in nearby Stratford CT. She has been a member of St. Peter’s for about 15 years. As a family, Beth, her husband and two boys have gone on several mission trips to Juarez, Mexico. Beth is also involved in planning and supporting the mission trips. Beth also participates in an outreach dinner team. As a parent of two boys, she has been involved in youth group. She has attended alpha class, and is the coordinator of the Christian yoga class. She is currently serving on vestry and filling in as clerk.
Beth likes the family environment, opportunities for mission work, liturgy and choir at St. Peter’s. Beth’s hobbies are camping, baking and cooking, reading and spending time with her family and friends.
Mary Beth was born in Bridgeport, CT and moved to Milford at age 4. Friends of her, Debbi and Paul Smith, had been talking about St. Peter’s and after a few years of soul searching she decided to give St. Peter’s a go. She walked thru the door, and found her new home. It was warm and welcoming place to worship. She has been attending St. Peter’s since 2000. Mary Beth has been involved in many ministries at St. Peter’s. Presently, she is a Vestry member, she produces the Epistle with the help of the Communications committee, and is in charge of the Greeters. She has served as Junior Warden and also as Senior Warden. She is also on the Stewardship committee.
This is what Mary Beth has to say about St. Peter’s: “I love St. Peter’s. It is my home. I love the fellowship, I feel spiritually fed. We are a smaller community, but we have a big heart. We do outreach work, not only in Milford, but also around the world. We respect each other and our church. I miss St. Peter’s and my church family when I go away on vacation. My week is not complete when I miss service on Sunday.”
Mary Beth and her husband, Stephen, love to travel, especially cruising. She has three siblings, one daughter and two stepdaughters, and five grandchildren, and loves to spend time with them and her mom.
Class of 2019
Wesley A. Christensen moved to Milford in 1977 and has been a member of St. Peter’s since 2005. Wes is a current member of the vestry and serves as an usher at the 8:00 AM service. Wes volunteers at the monthly outreach dinners and enjoys the Tuesday and Thursday bible study groups and Christian fellowship. During his free time Wes enjoys powerboat cruising.
Don has been a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Milford, Connecticut since relocating to Milford in 2004. He currently serves as member of the Vestry, Lay Eucharist Minister, and Lector, and previously served on the Finance and Stewardship committees. Don’s bride of 40 plus years is Judith Ann Johnston. They had three children: Joseph Donald (“Trey”) Warren, III who passed away in May 2013; James Patrick Charles Johnston Warren and Jordan Kathryn Johnston Taylor Warren, both who reside in Texas and one granddaughter, Evelyn Gail Warren. Don Warren is a professor of accounting and Schlobach Distinguished Chair in Accounting in the School of Management at Marist College located in Poughkeepsie, New York.
Donna and her husband, Jay have been members of St. Peter's Church for about 32 years. Donna is a Social Worker in the Milford Public School System. She has worked with elementary children ages four through eleven for 20 years. Prior to that time she served as the Director of Social Work at St. Vincent's Hospital in Bridgeport, CT. She worked in health care for approximately 20 years. She has 2 adult children and one grandchild, Jack who is 7. Her favorite pastimes are reading, crafting, and gardening.
She has served on the Vestry several times, has been a Sunday School Teacher and has served as a Greeter. She has been a member of the Fellowship Committee. Presently, Donna is a member of the Vestry and a Eucharistic Lay Minister.
Class of 2020
Bernadette DeRubeis; moved to Milford from Danbury, CT in 2003. My husband David and I have been attending services at St. Peters since sometime in 2009. We both participated in Alpha classes; we actively participate in Bible study and Lenten studies; we are members of one of St. Peter’s Mission Outreach Dinner teams; we actively participate in fund raising as needed; we host coffee hour as needed; I have been a leader in a Sponsorship drive, and my husband was previously a vestry member. Most recently, I served on the Recruitment Committee for our new rector search.
In my professional life, I am a Judicial Assistant to the Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut, which keeps me very busy. When I am not working, I enjoy quiet time at home with my husband, and in the summer months spending time at the beach with my family.
What I like most about St. Peter’s Church is the warm, loving family atmosphere. It’s a very comfortable church to attend and worship God.
Michael grew up in New Haven, but moved to Milford in 2008 after returning from a year in Afghanistan and marrying his beloved wife Karen. Michael and Karen joined St. Peter's in 2010 and have greatly enjoyed the fellowship and family focus of the community. Their two children were baptized at St. Peter's in 2012. Michael has been a Sunday School teacher and currently serves on the Vestry.
Born Boston, MA. Moved to CT at age 10 with family & attended St. Peter's. Graduated Yale - New Haven School of Nursing then moved to Key Biscayne, FL where I lived & worked as a Nursing Administrator/Instructor for 40 yrs. Worshipped at St. Phillips in Coral Gables, FL for all those yrs. Met w/Bishop Frade in 2009 re: discernment for priesthood & attended General Seminary in NYC 2010-13. Graduated with Master of Divinity. Participated in 2 yr. Chaplain Residency at Yale, Norwalk and Stamford Hospitals. Employed as Hospice Chaplain by Constellation Health.
